This is the second species of Kurixalus tree frog discovered in the Central Highlands in 2014, bringing the total number of species of tree frog in Vietnam to 73, accounting for 20% of all species of tree frogs of the world. Đây là loài nhái cây mới thứ hai thuộc giống Kurixalus được phát hiện ở Tây Nguyên trong năm 2014, nâng tổng số loài thuộc họ ếch ở Việt Nam lên 73 loài, chiếm 20% tổng số loài thuộc họ ếch cây của thế giới.
